Perinatal Mood Disorders
such as Pregnancy and Postpartum depression and anxiety affect between 15-20%
of women. Maternal Mental Health is still the top medical concern women
face during and after pregnancy. Although Postpartum concerns are
recognized more frequently, mental health issues that occur during
pregnancy often are not diagnosed or treated. Often the symptoms are
assumed to be related to the typical experiences of pregnancy. Dr. Fraga
articulates the risks and advice for improving care.
