Integrating Women's Health Care for Maternal Mental Health


Perinatal Mood Disorders such as Pregnancy and Postpartum depression and anxiety affect between 15-20% of women. Maternal Mental Health is still the top medical concern women face during and after pregnancy. Although Postpartum concerns are recognized more frequently, mental health issues that occur during pregnancy often are not diagnosed or treated. Often the symptoms are assumed to be related to the typical experiences of pregnancy. Dr. Fraga articulates the risks and advice for improving care.
